The Ramones’ ear-splitting third LP, Rocket To Russia.Now, in celebration of its 40th anniversary, Rocket To Russia will get a deluxe-edition blast-off courtesy of Rhino, according to Rolling Stone.Set for release on Black Friday, Nov. 24, the reissue will comprise three CDs anchored by two different mixes of the album and a previously unreleased concert from Glasgow, Scotland, on Dec. 19, 1977.Additionally, the set will feature plenty of tracks dusted off from the Ramones’ vault, including an early version of “Needles And Pins,” an alternate version of “It’s A Long Way Back To Germany” featuring Dee Dee Ramone on vocals, an original radio promo with Joey Ramone and versions of “Why Is It Always That Way?” and “Ramona” with alternate lyrics.Rocket To Russia peaked at No. 49 on the Billboard 200 and yielded their only three songs to chart on the Billboard Hot 100: “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker” (No. 81), “Rockaway Beach” (No. 66) and “Do You Wanna Dance” (No. 86).Rhino’s Rocket To Russia reissue follows the 2013 box set, Ramones: The Sire Years (1976-1981), containing the group’s first six albums.
