FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Red Deer man is in police custody in relation to the robbery of a truck and two trailers near Fort St. John last week.On Feb. 5, the Fort St. John RCMP was alerted that a stolen Ford F-350 pickup truck was seen towing a stolen trailer from Dawson Creek, and was travelling north bound on Highway 97 through Taylor.Officers attended to the area and attempted to stop the truck, but it fled from police.- Advertisement -Later that night, police were told the truck was now towing a different stolen trailer and fleeing from a property near the North Pine area — with the homeowners following the suspect.Fort St. John RCMP General Duty members, along with RCMP traffic services, RCMP Police Dog Services, and the Fort St. John RCMP General Investigation Section attended to the scene, and the driver was arrested.29-year-old Justin David Dupperon is currently awaiting his next court appearance on Feb. 24.Advertisement He is facing charges related to possession of property obtained by crime, theft over $5,000, flight from police, control of a vehicle while impaired, possession of break in instruments, and mischief.Police say both trailers and the Ford F-350 have been recovered. The truck was stolen out of Alberta.
